Two-day partner meeting of the Maritime English Language Assessment Standards (MariLANG) programme

The first partner meeting of the three-year Erasmus+ European Project finished today, 20 Nov. 2015. The Naval Academy hosted the first two-day partner meeting of the Maritime English Language Assessment Standards (MariLANG) programme. The project is directly related to the Maritime English language training of both cadets and students. The agenda included the initial stages of the main activities and work packages. Cooperation and exchange of good practices is the key element of the Erasmus+ programme. Partners from United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, Greece, Slovenia and Bulgaria took part in the meeting.  They represent different universities among which Jade Hochschule Wilhelmshaven/Oldenburg/Elsfleth in Germany, Hogere Zeevaartschool Antwerpen in Belgium and the Naval Academy in Varna as well as 1st Evening Vocational Senior High School of Egaleo in Athens. Subject to discussion were the main outputs of the project and partners’ responsibilities for designing and developing the Maritime English assessment methodology and standards, Ass. Prof, Captain (Navy) Nikolai Velikov, Dean of Navigation Faculty said.
The next meeting will be held in February 2016 in UK.
