Courtesy Call by Italian Ship Palinuro Commander to Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy

On 10 August 2016, Commander Gabriele Belfiore – commanding officer of the Italian sailing ship Palinuro (A 5311) paid a courtesy call to Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy. He was accompanied by the honorary consul of the Reoublic of Italy in the city of Varna – Antonio Tarquinio, Captain (N) Marco Fausto – representative of the Navy of the Republic of Italy in the Headquarters of the Navy of the Republic of Bulgaria, and Lieutenant Commander Alessandro Mignone – in charge of the training practice on the ship.

The guests were welcomed by Commodore Prof. DSc Boyan Mednikarov, Rector of the Naval Academy, to the conference hall, where Lieutenant Junior Grade Stanislava Stefanova delivered a presentation. The guests were introduced to some highlights from the history, current state, structure, mission, goals and objectives of Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy.

On 10 August 2016, cadets from the three-masted sailing ship Palinuro will be visiting the Naval Academy to see the facilities and the curricula for the training of military cadets and civilian students.
