Abstract: The collection of papers from the scientific conference entitled BULGARIA GERMANY. THE FIRST WORLD WAR. LESSONS LEARNED FOR THE FUTURE contains a total of 21 publications, divided into the following three scientific areas: Geopolitical aspects of World War I; Operations in World War I; and Minorities and social aspects in World War I. The authors of the papers are researchers from four research institutes and nine universities, including all the higher military education establishments in Bulgaria. Their studies reflect the modern recreation of the events from a century ago with regards to the Bulgarian involvement in that war.
The papers are based on archival fonds from the State Military History Archive – VelikoTarnovo, the Scientific Archive with the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, the Central State Archive – Sofia and the Naval History Museum – Varna.
