Those who have successfully completed their education in this major receive a Bachelor of Science degree and are prepared for the positions Organizer, Deputy Port Director, and Small Port Director. They can also occupy different operator and expert positions at port administration and shipping companies.  

Among the general education requirements for the major are Calculus, Informatics, Technical Mechanics, Electrical Engineering, English, etc.

The major-specific disciplines are Ship Theory and Mechanisms; Port Mechanisation and Equipment; Fleet Organization and Management; Foundations of Brokerage and Agencing; Fleet Trade Operation. On a smaller scale are taught Foundations of Navigation and Navigation Aids; Shipping Safety; and other disciplines. The education is broad-based and gives the graduates an opportunity to work in different branches of the maritime transport.

The education includes theoretical knowledge, simulator practice, internship in a port and a shipping company, knowledge of the Black and Mediterranean seas and their ports. The Naval Academy has modern labs in Navigation, Maritime Affairs and Ship Navigation, Rigging, Ship Exploitation, Informatics, Language Studies, etc.

The education is considered completed after the passing of a state exam in the major.

The Bachelor of Science Degree gives the graduates an opportunity to enroll in Master’s Programs at the Academy and other higher education institutions.

Upon successful completion of the course of training, graduates are prepared for the positions of organizer, deputy harbor master and master of a small port. They can also occupy a number of operator and expert positions in port administrations and shipping companies
