The graduate of the specialty “Organization and Management of Military Formations at the Tactical Level” (specialization “Navigation for the Navy”) is ready intellectually, morally and physically for realization as an officer of the Navy, as a citizen and head of civilian units in the Republic of Bulgaria.
As a result of the training for 5 years, the graduate acquires:
– higher education in the specialty “Organization and Management of Military Formations at the Tactical Level” (specialization “Navigation for the Navy”) with an educational and qualification degree “Bachelor” from the professional field “Military Affairs” of the professional field “Security and Defense”;
– higher education in the specialty “Navigation” with an educational and qualification degree “Bachelor” from the professional field “Transport”, Shipping and Aviation” of the professional field “Technical Sciences”.
The graduate is trained as an officer for the management of the combat unit of the ships of the Navy, for the management of the combat use of weapons and technical means of the combat units, for the performance of the duties of a watch officer, as well as for the performance of the duties of a watch assistant captain of a civil navigation ship.
A graduate can hold senior positions on warships and coastal units of the Navy.
After passing a certain internship in the Navy and training in specialized courses, the graduate can occupy the positions: commander of a ship, divisional specialist and equivalent to them.
As career officers of the Navy, they can improve their qualifications at the school and in foreign military academies and colleges purposefully or for a higher position.
The training is carried out in the conditions of a militarized regime and ends with the passing of state exams in navigation, tactics of the Navy and English.
Graduates of the specialty acquire military engineering and other special knowledge and skills in the theory of navigation and automation of navigation, the structure and rules for the operation of the ship, naval weapons, tactics of naval combat, etc.
The lectures are combined with various forms of practical training of cadets for acquiring special training, for their moral, mental and physical strengthening and for their growth as leaders.
The main forms of educational activity are:
- summer camp for sea training;
- rowing and sailing trips;
- physical training and swimming training;
- training practice on military and training ships;
- overseas sailing practice;
- light diving training;
- simulator training;
- training firing with personal weapons;
- training artillery firing on warships;
- training torpedo firing and mine-blasting operations.
Simultaneously with the military training, the cadets also undergo a full course in the necessary academic disciplines of the civil specialty “Navigation”. This gives them the opportunity to start working as an assistant captain on a civilian ship after completing their military service.
