Persons successful graduates of this course must:
– be able to: provide both first aid and emergency medical care when needed until qualified medical person arrives and takes care of the victim.
Course requirements:
The course is intended for deck officers, engineers and other persons providing and providing first aid to seafarers on board the ship. In accordance with Rule VI / 4 p.1 and A-VI / 1-3 of STCW 78 (as amended), Directive 2008/106 / EC, Directive 2011/0239 (COD) / EC, Model course 1.14 at MMO, 2002 edition. Officers appointed by the companies are required to produce a document that they have complied with the standards for 5 years medical training.
Requirements to participants:
Course participants must have a seafarer capacity to occupy the appropriate ship position in accordance with the requirements of STCW 78 (as amended) and hold a certificate of completion of Elementary First Aid training. Participants must meet the following requirements:
– be medically sound;
– be 18 years or older.
