Persons successfully passing this course must:
– be familiar with: the types of ropes used for mooring operations, personal protective equipment, the planning and conduct of mooring of the ship, the dangers and risks of mooring operations, the rules for safe working practices during such operations, the correct communication and signals during mooring;
– be able to conduct safe mooring operations.
Course requirements:
The course provides knowledge and skills to ships crews as well as shore personnel assigned to participate in ship mooring operations. The course includes training in the basics and procedures for safe mooring of ships.
The program is prepared in connection with the requirements of art. 47 of Ordinance № 9 of 17 October 2013 on the requirements for operational suitability of ports and specialized port facilities and is based on IMO circular FAL.6 / Circ.11 / Rev.1 “Guidelines on minimum training and education for mooring personnel ”, ch. 26 of the Code of Safe Working Practices for Merchant Seamen and meets the training requirements set out in STCW Section A-II / Table A-II / 2, Table A-II / 3, Table A-II / 4 of the STCW Convention ’78, Directive 2008/106 / EC, as amended.
Requirements to participants:
Trainees are required to hold at least a primary school diploma, to be in good health, and be not less than18 years old.
