Rating Forming Part of an Engineering Watch
Training under this program aims for students to acquire knowledge, skills and practical experience in order to enhance safety of navigation through reliable performance of engineering watch, keeping the life and health of the persons on board, preventing the marine environment from pollution, protection of property at sea, as well as performing routine maintenance of the engines, machinery and systems on board.
Course requirements:
The course is intended to train persons to acquire competency of Rating Forming Part Of An Engineering Watch for the needs of maritime navigation under Regulation III/4 of STCW 78 Convention, as amended and the STCW Code, Table А- III/4, Directive 2009/125/EC, as amended by Directive 35/2012/EU and corresponds to the course, required under Article 37, par. 9, item “a” of Regulation No 6 of 05.04.2012 on Seafarers’ Competency in the Republic of Bulgaria.
Requirements to participants:
In order to be admitted in the course, the trainees should meet the following requirements:
– be not less than 18 years of age;
– have completed approved education and hold the corresponding diploma;
– be medically fit, verified by a medical certificate, issued by an approved medical institution;
– have completed the Basic Safety Training course, when the practical classes are performed on board an operating ship.
