Training in Engine Room Resource Management and Teamwork – Refresh

Persons successfully passing this course must refresh:
- the basic rules for resource management in the engine room (ER); the statutory requirements for carrying a safety watch in the ER; establishment of a safety and security organization in the ER; assessment of human resource resources; evaluation of the professional qualification of the team in the ER; the basics of fatigue management and stress; the principles for building and managing the team in the ER; the general theory of risk assessment in the ER; organizing and conducting training and trainings of the ER team; the foundations for self-assessment of personal qualities,
- Build and manage effectively the ER team under normal and specific conditions; evaluate the degree of endurance and alertness of the team in the ER; assess the internal and external factors affecting the normal functioning of the ER; implement and use a rational form and communication scheme; apply in practice the theory and tools for risk assessment in basic engineering activities; manage resources in the ER to minimize risk.
The course is conducted using a machine simulator.
Learners in the course must be have completed training and hold a certificate for a course “Training in Engine Room Resource Management and Teamwork”.
