Training in Safe Operation and Maintenance of Power Systems in Excess of 1000 Volts

Electrical engineers, electricians and marine engineers working with High Voltage Power Systems in excess of 1000 V should know how to operate and maintain them in a safe manner. Certificated persons should know and implement the procedures for usage of protective equipment as well as of the monitoring, control and signaling equipment of these systems.
Course requirements:
The course is designed to complement and extend the knowledge of the engine department staff in order to ensure the safe operation and maintenance of power systems in excess of 1000 Volts on board ships. The knowledge and service experience of the electrical and marine engineers or electricians, certificated before 01.01.2012 should meet the requirements of 2010 Manila amendments to STCW as well as Art.88 (4) par.3 of Regulation No 6 On Seafarers’ Competence in the Republic of Bulgaria and the national standard for this training.
Requirements to participants:
Trainees are required to have a diploma of university or diploma in secondary education in “Ship’s Electrical Equipment” or “Marine Engineering” (or any other specialty recognized by Regulation No6) and hold a certificate of competence for ship electrical engineer/electrotechnical officer, ship electrician, chief engineer, second engineer or watch keeping engineer.
