The graduate of the specialty “Organization and Management of Military Formations at the Tactical Level” (specialization “Mechatronics”) is ready intellectually, morally and physically for realization as an officer, as a citizen and head of civilian units.
As a result of the training for 5 years, the graduate acquires:
- higher education in the specialty “Organization and Management of Military Formations at the Tactical Level” (specialization “Mechatronics”) with a Bachelor’s degree in the professional field of “Military Affairs” in the field of higher education “Security and Defense”;
- higher education in the specialty “Intelligent Systems in Transport (Mechatronics)” with an educational and qualification degree “Bachelor” in the professional field “Transport, Shipping and Aviation” in the field of higher education “Technical Sciences”.
Graduates of the school in this specialty acquire military engineering and other special knowledge and skills in the field of theory and technical operation of intelligent transport systems in service in the Bulgarian Army. They acquire in-depth knowledge of: naval weapons and naval tactics; the structure of the ship and the methods of fighting for survivability; conventional requirements for environmental protection; Programming; microprocessor technology; Mechanics; as well as practical knowledge of working with modern 3D printers, 3D scanners, industrial robots, drone control, laser cutting, engraving and volumetric milling machines.
The graduates acquire knowledge and skills in the field of the structure and organization of work in the BA and the structures directly subordinate to the Ministry of Defense. In addition, cadets acquire basic knowledge of the organization, structure and governing bodies of the EU and NATO. An important part of the training of cadets in the specialty is the application in their practical activities of the statutes, instructions and regulations, making timely appropriate decisions in various conditions and working independently and in a team.
Special attention in the training of young cadets is paid to their ability to control stress, build leadership skills by forming teams and managing group processes, make adequate decisions under stress, resolve conflicts and motivate their subordinates.
Cadets master English to a degree satisfying the requirements of STANAG 6001, level 2-2-2-2.
The lectures are combined with various forms of practical training of cadets for acquiring special training, for their moral, mental and physical strengthening and for their growth as leaders.
The main forms of educational activity are:
- Summer camp for sea training;
- Leadership camp;
- Rowing and sailing trips;
- Physical training and swimming training;
- Training practice;
- Simulator training;
- Training shootings with personal weapons.
After graduation, graduates enter service as officers in the Bulgarian Army and occupy senior positions in formations of the Armed Forces. The training includes knowledge and skills for personnel management and handling of personal weapons.
Simultaneously with the military training, the cadets also undergo a full course in the necessary academic disciplines of the civilian specialty “Intelligent Systems in Transport (Mechatronics)”. This gives them the opportunity after completing their military service to be able to realize themselves in the field of industry and robotics. As specialists creating and implementing new products and technologies on the market, using rapid prototyping methods.
