Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy and the Ministry of Shipping of Greece start joint activities

The head of “N. Y. Vaptsarov” Naval Academy – flotilla admiral Prof. D.M.Sc. Boyan Mednikarov met with the Minister of Shipping and Maritime Policy of Greece – Ioannis Plakiotakis. During the visit, which took place on November 14, 2022, in Piraeus, Admiral Mednikarov, together with the Vice-Rector International programs of NVNA – Captain (N) Assoc. Prof. PhD Nikolay Velikov, introduced the Minister to the activities of the Naval Academy, where about 400 Greek students study in bachelor programs in “Navigation” and “Marine engineering”.

Minister Plakiotakis expressed his readiness to assist in improving the opportunities for seafaring internship for Greek students studying at VVMU. The two sides agreed that it would be mutually beneficial to take steps for closer contacts and cooperation between the Maritime School and the Ministry of Shipping of Greece.
