On 31 May 2017 Yunashki Salon hosted the official ceremony for awarding the winners from the Open Workers’ Sports Games for Varna Municipality Cup, conducted from 1 to 29 May 2017. The organisers were: Varna Municipality, the Bulgarian Workers’ Federation of Sports and Health, and the Sports and Health – Varna 2016 Workers’ Club.

The purpose of this great sporting event was to resurrect the traditions of grassroots sports on the territory of Varna Municipality, and to enable the participants from governmental bodies and private enterprises to showcase their abilities not only at their workplaces, but also on the tracks, fields and courts.

The contest involved 22 companies and institutions, some of them with teams in several types of sport. The participants competed both for the top prizes for those sports and for determining the overall winner of the games in the following sports: mini football, volleyball, beach volleyball, beach tennis, basketball (streetball), men’s and women’s darts.

Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy came first in the overall team rankings.
